Downhole containers (DC) filled with inhibitors of corrosion, scale and paraffin depositions with protector as set of sacrificial anodes on container section body.

Sacrificial anodes polarize steel to a safe potential and, as a result, significantly reduce the corrosion activity of downhole equipment. Having a higher electrochemical potential relative to the material of the ESP or another kind of downhole equipment (cathode), anodes divert corrosion process on itself.

DC with protector, if necessary can be supplied as set with submersible protectors and tubing protectors, is effective solution to protect downhole equipment from mixed complications as electrochemical and chemical corrosion as well as scale and paraffin depositions.

downhole PROTECTORS
The cathodic method of protection belongs to physical methods and in combination with chemical and technological methods such as inhibitor protection, enhances the effect of the combined protection of downhole equipment.

Cathodic protection technology for ESP is based on the selection and application of alloys protectors with different content of aluminum, zinc, magnesium and other alloying components depending on the hydrodynamic and geophysical parameters at the well, as well as analysis of field studies (well rate dynamics and changes in water cut, chemical analysis, reservoir pressure, reservoir temperature, etc.)

The protector polarizes the steel to a safe potential, as result, oxidizes itself (“dissolves”). This technology is characterized by a relatively low cost and significant running life.
Tubing protectors (TP) designed to protect tubing string and pump rods from electrochemical corrosion.

As the protectors are destroyed, they are replaced with new ones during the next workover. Protectors are made by injection
molding, ensuring their high density and minimum dimensional error.

TP are installed in places of productive tubing connections throughout whole well length.
Submersible Piped protector (SPP) are installed above the pumping unit and recommended for use in wells with depth more than 2500 meters. The reinforcing element is made of a tubing pipe.

Submersible protectors can be combined into
assembly to prolong the ESP protection period and MTBF of downhole equipment.
Submersible protectors (SP) are installed directly to the ESP unit.

In case of a set with SMART container they can be installed above the container and under the pumping unit or above the pumping unit.

SP is recommended for use in wells with depth of up to 2500 meters and inclination not more than 1ᵒ per 10 meters.
